I have mint 17.3 cinnamon and would like to get direct updates instead of having to reinstall when updates come good.
As usual I do not actually know much…
But I remeber the time when SUN was the “vendor” (for Win only) of StarOffice 6 through 8. They surely were not too short in resources, but in the end they could no longer manage to offer an incremental update being less in file size than the full installer. It was bigger! This partly due to the fact that it was made for more languages. Faster? Donno. However…
Mint will update your LibreOffice without reinstalling everything again. Said that, keep in mind that Mint like Ubuntu, aren’t that fast to upload mainstream updates as others distros like Arch or Fedora.
Anyway, you don’t need to reinstall everything, your distro will keep the programme up to date.
Hope this answers your question.
