There is an Extensions webpage for the LibreOffice.
You can upload your extensions after a registration.
Now you can you can upload the extensions here : then we (the USERS) can try it, we can give an opinion for you.
Thanks for you reply.
Yes, I know about the https://extensions.libreoffice.org/. I already have 5 approved extensions.
My question is how do I get them included in the main distribution?
David
Why you want it? Everyone can download and install it as an Extension - if he/she want to use it.
And it’s easier to maintain as an extension than having your code become part of the full code.
How many estensions were added in June? How many were downloaded? Is there a newsletter telling people about new extensions?
It is not about me, it is about adding value to the product.
It is way to add some of the features (which are’t important enough for the main developers to work on ) which are missing from the main distribution.
BTW, How many extensions have you contributed?
If I don’t or wouldn’t use the extension and it is included in the main program, I might regard it as bloat. Some extensions, like Inline Headings have been incorporated into LibreOffice while other useful, longstanding ones such as Template Changer, Alt Search, and Timestamp Backup haven’t been. Isn’t it enough to know they are available to those who want to use them?
The extensions page seems to listed by most recent so I can see in the first page of listings that there are 30 extensions updated or added within the last month. Generally, if I am looking for an extension, I will use a search word and maybe a filter but I prefer an extension that is regularly updated.
Ok, what extension would I use to pull US census data?
why pulling?
just ask IA to directly compute and piechart what u want.
Good example. I would never need that and would regard it as bloat if it were included in the main program. You can create an extension for it if you want.
If I needed that data, I would go to the relevant government department website and download the files that I needed.
Well, actually I aready have created it… but for some reason my add-ins are not being approved amore!!
