I want to turn off the spell checking functionality for urls in my Libreoffice writer document. Is there a way to do it?
Adjust the Language property of the Character Style “Internet Link” to “None”. It is located on the Font TAB of the Style.

Without any factual information about your usage of LO (OS name, LO version, save format and your routine), it is quite difficult to give a definitive answer. So this is only a sketch.
By default, URLs end up being character-styled Internet Link and Visited Internet Link. Customise both styles: go to Font tab and set language to None.
