Past versions of Libreoffice Impress embedded the multimedia file into the opd file. I find that the recent version (25.8) does not do that. You still had to have the correct codecs on the second machine, but you only had to copy the opd file to your flash drive. There is no question that when creating the presentation, the saves are much faster, but I find things a much bigger hassle when I have to copy all of the multimedia onto a flash drive, along with the opd file, when I used to be able to only file that I had to copy. Is there any way to embed the files to improve its portability?
That first presentation that I went to give without knowing that I had to have all the supporting files on the drive was a bit embarassing. Thank God for Dropbox, because I was able to download the files and recreate the presentation.
