How do you remove anchor image from document?

I can’t find a remove/delete/cut option on any of the menus offered under anchor or by right clicking the image and using cut . I don’t really know how the anchor got there in the first place. It was not on the original word document - just an inserted movable image which I now need to remove. It moves around the document but won’t delete.

The anchor can’t be deleted by itself: it is only a property of an object. You must therefore find the offending object and delete it. If the object is very small, it might be difficult to locate.

Then use the Navigator in the side pane. The navigator lists all objects in the document: text frames, images, OLE objects and drawing objects. If you have a small triangle next to a category name, then there are such objects present. Click on the triangle to reveal the list and double-click on a name to select it. You can now delete it.

You mention a “word document”. The added object may be the result of format conversion (I had such artefacts with very old .rtf files).

Wow. That sounds complicated but I’ll give it a go when I next am at computer. Thank you. PCG
