How to access printer built in fonts

I am planning to use Libre Office for my business. The only problem I am having is that I cannot use built-in printer fonts (we use Thermal receipt printers and dot-matrix printers, nearly all are Epson made). Printers are all set as default in the OS and built-in fonts are working fine in MS Office and Wordpad. Is this feature available in Libre Office ,if so how can I use it.Thanks in advance.

How are you selecting the fonts in MS Office and Wordpad?

I assume the printer software installed a driver and any needed fonts.

My dot matrix printers use drivers that are bundled with the windows OS. There are no special fonts installed in the Fonts folder. MS word pad and MS Office just show additional fonts(with a small printer logo) in their font selection drop down menu when the printer is set to default. Printer information guide says these fonts are built into printer itself and can be accessed from the word processor application.

Look at the properties of these printers in the Control Panel. If there is a Fonts Tab you should be able to download these Fonts into the Windows Fonts folder which should make them available in LO.

Already tried it , no fonts tab.

It is highly unlikely that those fonts will ever be available to use in LO. It has taken steps to discontinue support of legacy fonts already, so even if there’s a way to download a true device font from impact-type printer,it would be a legacy-type font, and wouldn’t be supported.

See e.g. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103514, https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94203

Current direction of text layout and rendering requires uniform handling on all supported platforms, and that’s practically impossible with legacy fonts.
