How to avoid two subsequent pages on screen when editing text ?(v6)

When editing it is very distracting that page down or arrow commands does not force the pages to follow in sequence, but rather jumps one page ahead. This did not occur in previous versions. Is there any method beyond the"web view" which can remedy this?

Do you try to tell us, that you have 2 pages side by side on the screen and clicking page down jumps, let’s say from page 1 directly to page 3? If yes - check the three small icons at the right side of the status bar (left to the zoom slider), which allow to switch from Single-page view to Multi-page view and to Book view

Thanks, quite so, pages out of sequence is my problem and with some 70 pages per document proofreading is a problem. Howeveer i do not ahve a zoomslider , nor 3 formmat icons only an extensive menu line above the text on my ordinary W10 machine. Maybe I should switch on my Linux macj\hine and save the document there if it can be amended and the view will be saved together with the text.

Then your probably your status bar is not active - Tick View -> Status Bar

And please tell why you are proposing a solution (Add Answer), while just commenting a comment.

Thanks: The status bar gives a myriad of options, under five symbols, but none seems able to kill the sequential confusion. AS a nephyte here,I used the most visible answer field so as to supplement the info provided. I have been using L.O. since the days of Star Office but never encountered this problem before.

Update: all options under “view” have been explored. Still no way to get rid of the unsystematic and annoying double page view. No- one with a solution to kiloing off this “feature”

At least a pertial answer to this “featuritis problem”. I routinely use the “net” opton under the “view” tab. However knowing which page one is on would be far better, so I do hope the developers will give us bback the sequential ordering of pages when scrolling down taht we used to have in star-office as well as in earlier open office and libre offfice versions.

No change in the most recent version, the web trick still serves to create a readable sequence, but gives no page numbers. All respect for jahard working coders, who need not yet look into unfathomable reasons for creating this “feature”. I will continue experimenting with menus in order to get back to the star-office mode of not garbling text.
