How to center align a list in a cell

I have a table in writer.
The first row contains titles which are center aligned.
The lower row is listing stuff in bullet points and is at the moment left aligned.
I cannot center align the list because the bullet points are then not vertically aligned anymore. It looks horrible.

My simple question is, how can I center align a bullet point list in a table cell?

What is your requirement? Do you want the bullets vertically aligned and item text centred?

This is possible with correctly configured (1) list style, (2) paragraph style and (3), most important, document saved as .odt.

EDIT: I can’t manage adequately your multi-line paragraph. Can your list items be reduced to a single line? If you need several lines, then is it possible to have a “title” bullet item, followed by a standard paragraph detailing this title?

But, IMHO, if your list items are inside a table, there is no need for a bullet. Your list is already perfectly delimited by the table rows or cell (if you put them all in a single cell).

Don’t forget to mention OS name, exact LO version and save format.

As a workaround, you can add a centered tab stop, and add a tab at the beginning of each paragraph.

EDIT: It seems I understand what you’re trying to do: Horizontally center the list as a block in the cell, not as individual items.
You can follow @fpy advice, but changing the before and after indent values in the Properties sidebar (instead of in the horizontal ruler).

In your picture, the text is being detached from the bullet points.
Of course, to look tidy, the distance from the bullet point to the text should be uniform.
The bullet points and the text as well should be vertically aligned.
But the list should be vertically aligned towards the whole cell.

Could you give a more precise requirement? (with stated distances).

Detaching the bullet point is only possible if the bullet is left-aligned in the paragraph. As soon as you try to tune some other layout, the whole list item gets centred and the added tab stop no longer controls alignment of the sole text (it impacts the whole item, including the bullet).

Additionally, multi-line items lines 2+ cannot be centred. They revert to left-alignment. So, either the whole item is centred with the bullet in line 1 looking ugly or you revert to a usual item.

If your table cells contain only items, adding a bullet does not make sense (personal opinion).

The whole list block should be basically kept as in the example file. It should just be centered, each within its cell.

I don’t understand this but it doesn’t sound like the right thing.

But, IMHO, if your list items are inside a table, there is no need for a bullet. Your list is already perfectly delimited by the table rows or cell (if you put them all in a single cell).

It is mandatory for me to have a list with bullet points. And I don’t think that you are right that it would work without a bullet point list. The problem would be I think the same: Paragraphs which should be left aligned towards each other and then together vertically aligned within the cell.

They if you want the bullet point in a “nice” and predictable position, customise the list style to have the bullet followed by a space instead of a tab.

And you are better off. Using the ruler paves the way towards the dreaded and unmanageable direct formatting.

Yes, every time when I tried to work with the ruler I ended up in a mess.
