How to change the orientation of word document from portrait to landscape.

How do I insert a landscape formatted page in a document where other pages are portrait formatted?

If you want to do this for an entire Writer wordprocessing document:

• See menu item Format - Page style ….
• Under the Page tab you will find the option to change direction.

If you really have a MS Word document, there may be other elements with a bearing on page format.
Also, for a single landscape page in a multiple page document, it is a little more work. See @Hrbrgr’s comment linking to documentation pages.
