Would like to create the shape of a capsule to use as an “oval swimming pool” drawing. Cannot figure out how to create shape. Have tried using rectangle, then circles, but cannot figure out how to properly select just the “capsule” portion?
Any help is appreciated (I know this can be done in PS, but gave up on that product in favor of LibreOffice)

I’d say that Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite and the LibreOffice suite focus on different kinds of work. CC is more about visual design, while LO is focused on creating structured documents. The suites are not “mutually exclusive”, but rather they complement each other. Use the tool to suit the task.
Basic procedure: draw rounded rectangle and adjust corner radius so that the corner curve covers the entire short side.
