We used Printmaster 18 to make and print greeting cards at home. Now, i’m on a laptop with no DVD/CD drive. I’m told it’s possible to create greeting cards in LibreOffice using a feature or app called Draw. Is there a step by step tutorial for this?
Have a look at this question, I want to create a Christmas card
The following site might be helpful, http://bvres.org/Schoolhouse-web-page/schoolhouse_files/LibreOffice_pdf/How_To_Create_Greeting_Cards_Using_LibreOffice_Draw_4_4.pdf
And there is an older template here, Birthday Card | Apache OpenOffice Templates
It is easier if you print on card, 200gsm or heavier, that way you don’t need to print some of it upside down for when you fold it. Your own pictures are probably the best to use if they are for friends and family. Play around with the drawing tools and fonts to get an idea of how they work. Cheers, Al
Thank you for your reply. After looking at the links you provided I see that it’s a complex process compared to a dedicated greeting card app. Guess i need to accept that i’ll have to purchase one of those.
Just using the template but changing the text, font, border and picture to your preferences is not complicated. Cards are one place that you can go wild with fonts and nobody will complain
BTW a plug-in USB DVD/CD reader / writer is not expensive
