How to create an editable PDF from existing underline fields

Hi,

I have been asked to convert an existing word document into a PDF where people can enter fields.

The attached document shows what the word document looks like. But there are many more fields. Is there a quick way to convert the items I highlighted into editable fields in the PDF? I don’t have Adobe Acrobat Pro. I also would like to avoid doing each line one by one if possible.

Thanks,

L

Have a look at Writer Guide 7.6 - Chapter 18 Forms

I just had a look at your document (without offering a solution). It uses weird fonts. I guess your document comes for a far past, dating back to very old releases of Window$, predating Unicode usage. Your “square boxes” in Symbol font face display as Euro signs here because they are encoded in the Private Use Area. Legacy 256-character Window$ fonts get converted to Unicode by transferring their 0x80-0xFF characters into the PUA. This is not standard nowadays and error prone because it requires an agreement between sender and recipient in order to display the document correctly.

Since the document is short, you’ll be more comfortable designing from scratch with standardised fonts. And if you use LO, save it as .odt to avoid future problems.

Hi, the fonts don’t really matter, in this case. All I did is a cut and paste from the original 9-page document which contains over 100 instances to change. That’s why I was asking if there was a non-manual way to do it.There might not be.
