I have just switched from OpenOffice to LibreOffice.
I do not want documents appearing when I start LibreOffice, just the menu options (to the left on the Start Center page)to direct me to writer or calc etc. Is there any way to disable or hide the document view? I’ve tried to right-click on the document to delete it from the view, but that does not work. This is on a machine running Windows XP, LibreOffice version 4.2.2.1. Many Thanks.
The Start Center is completely new in the current versions of LibreOffice (4.1 Stable and 4.2 Fresh). You may find that these meet your needs better. They both run on Windows XP. However you can always bypass the Start Center and put an icons on the desktop to directly invoke Writer and Calc. This will give you a new untitled empty document when invoked and the normal menu options for NEW > Text /Spreadsheet etc. and OPEN > Recent etc.
LibreOffice 2.2.2.1 is no longer supported, so we would gently encourage you to update. You should find 4.1/4.2 starts and runs more quickly, at least it does on my three XP systems. Peter
Thank you Manj_k for directing me to the History Master extension. That’s exactly what I needed!
