How to edit the extension for a custom color palette

I created a custom color palette, exported it, and imported the extension. I would like to create additional palettes and will need to edit them as they develop. But how to do that?

I know it’s possible because the export tool requires a version number and the extension manager has an update option and the web page describing the tool specifically mentions updating the palette. But I can’t find any way to edit them.

I have never created an extension for a colour palette, I just save .soc file. Have you looked at Create a new color palette - The Document Foundation Wiki? Cheers, Al

I have updated the wiki page a little bit yesterday, maybe you can find some clue there:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Extension_Development

Specifically, take a look at the foklowing paragraph (and the links in its sub-paragraph):

Also, take a look at the section named “Non-coding Examples”.

Thank you. I checked this out but it’s beyond my skill level. I’ve decided to use EarnestAl’s suggestion for editing the soc files.

Thank you. I was hoping that there was a way to do this in the UI but this seems to be the best alternative.

Did you check that template: PaletteMaker » Extensions
It should do what you’re looking for: create and edit palette files (.soc files).

Thank you. While that’s not quite what I was looking for, I do like it so I saved a copy. Some documentation would have been nice but I should be able to figure out how to use it.

There’s a documentation sheet (Manual). Of course some details might have been overlooked. If it doesn’t answer your questions, feel free to contact me in private and submit the enhancements you’d like (I’m the author).
