I just want to embolden every such word in the doc. How do I do that? I tried with the style and got ‘bold’ to appear onscreen in the find and replace dialog box beneath the ‘replace’ field but it did nothing.
Just search the specific word. Then click on Find All. Finally apply a Character style what (contain Bold property) for the founded items:

I’m using this quite often and it works on several of my Windows-based systems.
Does your search pattern really find your words. (I usually use “find next” as first step, then “replace all”, so I can see the change on the already found place.)
Wich version of LO are you using on which OS? (Even, as I’m in doubt, this will be OS-related.)
