Custom template open for edition. Template got few custom style definitions: 2 for pages, 1 for text body, 3 for bullet list, 1 for heading.
It is one-page template as of this minute. Page has one single line in page body. Line/paragraph is set to Heading custom style which got custom page style assigned with header disablement in page style. In some way header is not gone from page view. Instead style inspector informs that paragraph direct formatting is forcing other custom page style (which enables header). Indeed, if to open paragraph contextual menu, then to navigate to Page Style… dialog such a custom page style is selected where header is enabled.
Expectation: heading style to be effective for this page, which disables header.
Clearing direct formatting at that single paragraph doesn’t suffice to remove direct formatting assignment.
By the way (information eventually superfluous here) subsequent pages will have custom page style with header enabled.
prjA page style - header is enabled
prjA no header

Me was lucky to find following fix. For heading line to edit paragraph style (line contextual menu > Paragraph > Paragraph… > tab Text Flow) - page break ON setting was found with page style set to that one with header enabled. I disabled page break that place. Page view got Default Page Style. Subsequently desired custom heading style was applied to heading line as initially. This helped to achieve desired page look and paragraph direct formatting is no more overriding page style.
Unclear how durable this fix is.
