I have created a report in BASE and I would like to get row number listed on the report. This would help a lot when using the printed report in a discussion, I could refer to line # X instead saying count down 4 rows. I can do this in ACCESS but haven’t figured out how to do it in BASE.
Add a “text box” to the report (in fact it is a formatted field for text and all kinds of numbers).
On the “Data” tab of its properties dialog, choose “Counter”.

btw, Records do not have row numbers according to database theory.
Which is why we add the numbers to the report, where it makes perfect sense, for instance as position numbers on invoices.
