I installed the Libre Office on my New Huawei Matebook e go 2 in 1 laptop yesterday in USA. But the interface shows Chinese not English. I tried in Language Setting, but unable to find English in there. Are there anyway to change it? Thanks 謝謝
Yes, That was the same link that I downloaded yesterday, the latest version 7.6.4 and installed on my new Huawei MateBook laptop. But the interface is in Chinese.
Thanks
The user interface language of the English version is English. The file URL is
https://www.libreoffice.org/donate/dl/win-x86_64/7.6.4/en-US/LibreOffice_7.6.4_Win_x86-64.msi
The Chinese version is https://www.libreoffice.org/donate/dl/win-x86_64/7.6.4/zh-CN/LibreOffice_7.6.4_Win_x86-64.msi
Hi Villeroy,
Thank you. I download and installed from the English version URL you provided. But it is not avail.
I re-installed with the Custom option and selected the language to English, but the English selection shows a “red X”, which indicates no file. But I chose it anyway and installed it, but it is still not working. Of course.
I think, it is because the Window 11 on Huawei Matebook has no English option.
But when I installed other software programs, eg. The iObit uninstaller, it came out with Chinese interface, but I can change to English interface from iObit uninstaller Setting …
Thanks
There are no different language versions of the program installer. Both point to identical binaries, containing all the UIs and dictionaried (but not help - the latter has per-language installers); and the program installer itself checks the system language, and decides a default set of installed UI languages and dictionaries (but indeed, the user may choose a different set in custom setup - which is also accessible after installation, from system Apps applet). The reason why the URLs are different is the text on the “download started; please donate” page, not the different installers.
No, it indicates just “your” (default on your system, for some reason) choice of not installing it - click on the icon, and choose “this feature will be installed on local hard drive”, as shown on the page I linked above.
Thank you very much, mikekaganski, I got it !!
I didn’t know that I can click the arrow next to the “red x”, and get the language file.
After the installation, I open the Libre Office. → Option → Language setting → language → then select the English !!!
Thanks
