How to make Calc UI Vertical Scrollbar wider on Windows 11?

I’ve searched but have not been able to find an answer to this.

LO 24.8.3.2 (X86_64) (up to date)
Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (with latest updates)

LO seems to draw it’s own scrollbars, as they look different from those on all my other Windows Apps.

The whole scrollbar and thus the “thumb” button are much smaller than for other apps. The thumb has rounded corners. And it changes when the cursor hovers directly over it: it’s a very thin line without hover, then gets a little bit wider on hover.

The scrollbar is so narrow that I sometimes have trouble finding it, especially when the window is maximized and it’s right next to the screen edge.

How can I make the scrollbar wider, and perhaps change it’s colors, etc? And it would help if the thumb were to change and the up/down arrows were to appear when I hover anywhere over the scrollbar, not just the thumb or up/down buttons, the way that scrollbars for other apps work.

Thanks,
—Mark

looks the same as other scrollbar in the system or other apps.

Thank you for replying, and I now see that you are right. I am sorry.

I was basing my idea on what is “normal” for Windows apps on just TWO of those apps and I didn’t notice. I guess my solution would be to configure Windows to have wider scrollbars.

However, Calc does not show the scroll arrow buttons when you hover over the scrollbar while File Explorer and other do.

You can add yourself to the CC list in the bug report I quoted.

Windows 11 Scroll bar arrows hidden when set visible

Unfortunately, I have not found a solution, but I have decided to use simple alternatives in which everyone already knows, but probably doesn’t think about. To scroll page by page, just use the page up or page down buttons on your keyboard. Alternatively, if you only want to scroll up or down a little similar to pressing on the arrows on the scrollbar, just press the arrows on your keyboard as well. In addition, on your mouse, press down in the wheel if it allows, and a little circle with an up and down arrow with show. All you have to do is move your mouse up or down slightly and it will scroll in the direction you want smoothly. Easy Peasy!
