How to Make Multiple Selections in a Drop Down List

I have found how to do this in excel (pretty clunky) and it says use vba. I’m thinking Calc can do it too? Hopefully better. This is the excel method “Select Multiple Items from a Drop Down List in Excel” Is there a Calc method?
