Hi forum, Newbie here.

How to make shortcut key to insert date formatted as “Weekday, day month year”

I like to have shortcut key (Alt-X) to insert the current date as text in document.
Not a date field that changes each day.

Is this easy in LO. (Sorry, I’m a refugee from that other MS package.)

The shortcut for date input: Ctrl+;

If you need a specific format, my suggestion would be to create a cell style and apply it to the relevant cells: Format▸Style And Formatting (sidebar)

Was just wondering…

How to do I press Ctrl+; so as to get the date?

Problem is I have to press shift to get the “;” no? Maybe there’s another way.

YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM AM/PM This is the format I’m trying to get when I use the shortcut keys so as to enter the date and time in the cell.

I write documents in Thai and English sometimes using both in one document. I would like to create a macro to insert the current date for me in whatever language is currently being used in the document.
