How to Modify Default Settings for Bullets

Hello one and all, I am using MacBook Pro: OS Ventura 13.2

I am using LibreOffice 7.5.1.2

My question: is there a way to change the default settings for bullets? I would like to alter the bullets so that they are automatically set to “Space” instead of Tab stop. I would like there to be no space between the bullets and the text.

I know how to do it manually; however, I would enjoy it if the default setting was changed so that it automatically formatted the bullets the way that I need without having to constantly reformat them myself. I am not a coder nor do I understand a lot of complex stuff. So, please, craft your answer for a newbie or for someone who doesn’t understand complex computer stuff. Thank you,

That is not possible. The format of the list you enter using the button is defined by the available formats you define there. If you change a format, it will not persist for the next list. You could change one instance, then would need to copy that instance for use elsewhere.

You can, however, save your custom format in a list style, and then apply that list style to immediately have the format you want.

These styles can also be attached to a paragraph style, allowing you to activate it with a change in paragraph style.
