How to print database

I am a fairly new inexperienced user. How do I set up parameters to define area of the database I want to print. I used to just click print and it printed the entire database. That no longer works. I tried define print but can’t get that to work.

If by database you mean a simple Calc sheet:

Page and printer setup in Calc

However, if you mean something else you should supplement your initial question accordingly or consult the LibreOffice manuals.

It might help if we knew what you mean by database, and which part of the database user interface you mean.

I’m talking about the Calc spreadsheet. I use it as a basic “database” worksheet. I have consulted the manual and it is way over my head. I just want to print the spreadsheet!

Then don’t use Base for this.
Open the spreadsheet in Calc and use print from there. I prefer to use the page-preview (Keys: Sift+Ctrl+ O) to check the output before print.
.
Databases are designed to handle amounts of data, wich are usually not printed (today). So there reports are used to print selected parts.
.
To test what you get, try to print to a pdf and view the result in a pdf-reader, before you waste paper.

I have the spreadsheet open in calc. I have printed it numerous times in the past without a problem but now for some reason it only shows one blank sheet in print preview. That is why I’m asking how to set it up so that I can again print it.

A blank print preview hints at a bug, or a lack of defined default printer? Which OS and version of LibreOffice?

? Printing current (empty) selection
? did you try to define a print range (not containing data)

I tried to define a print range but could not get that to work. Can you give me detailed instructions how to define a print range? thanks!

I added “print range” here, because I once had a document, where I successfully added a print-range and could not extend/change this later. So, if you succeeded but defined an empty area, this could explain your situation.
.
Does your sheet/database contains sensitive/private data, or can you post it here for inspection. (In fact, it should even be possible -in a copy, always keep your original - to delete the contents or replace everything= regular expression .* with a placeholder -xx- and upload this here for inspection.)
.
The other thing I’d try: Copy everything from your sheet (ctrl-a, then ctrl-c) to a new sheet/file and check if you can print from there. If sthis works rename your original and replace it with the renewed file.

Do you have Skia rendering enabled in your general LibreOffice settings?
Tools > General > Display (not on Windows, so not sure where the LO application configuration is set).

If yes, try deactivating (unticking) these options.
