How to re-format this calendar data?

Hello, people, and Happy 2026!
Using LibreOffice 24.8 on a Win11 desktop,
I’m trying to make a calendar, with Special days.
The data originally comes formatted like in column A.
2026-12.ods (18.8 KB)

Can you please show how to convert that to what’s in columns C and D?
Later, I can easily remove all of the blank lines.
Thank you.
Mark5023

Happy New Year to you too, Mark!
In principle, it’s not difficult; see an example solution here - 2026-12.ods (23.0 KB)
But if you weren’t interested in formulas, but rather in the calendar of official holidays, I think it would be easier to find a ready-made spreadsheet online; this has already been done many times and is available for free download on sites like “calendarlabs” or “blank-calendar”.

MAGNIFICENT.! That worked very nicely, John. Thanks very much.
However, that is just a part of the custom calendar which I’ve used for a few years.
I print the “Week-at-a-glance” pages for 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 pages, including Birthdays and Anniversaries of friends.
I WAS using MS Excel, but that’s no longer available, and LibreOffice apparently doesn’t work in exactly the same manner.
Previously, I just changed the date in cell J1 of worksheet w1n4 (weeks 1 and 4), and then all other dates in all worksheets changed automatically.
Now, that ain’t happening in LibreOffice.
Both (the MS Office and LibreOffice versions) include formulas and stuff that are Beyond my level of understanding.
Can you please figure out how to correct J8 and J15, etc… in the w1n4 worksheet?
To help you, this might be an explanation of what the Hidden cells in w1n4 are doing:
Column A; in the DATES worksheet, how many times does the Date MM/YY appear in I1 (& J1)? That’s for birthdays / anniversaries.
Column B; how many times does the Date MM/YY in L1 (& M1) appear in the DATES sheet?
Column C & D: What Row #s in Dates should be printed?
Columns E & F: How Many entries in HOLIDAYS should be printed?
Columns G & H: What Row #s in Holidays should be printed?

Also, in the Dates worksheet, I don’t know why the the Formulas are showing in columns A and D, instead of the Results of the formula.

Crap. This apparently needs some Serious re-working:
I’ve needed to manually type columns K & N data to show it accurately.
The Holidays data DOES seem to be printed accurately, without manual correction. Cool.
I’d Greatly Appreciate it if you could at least point me toward some solutions.
Thanks very much for your time and expertise, John.

Sorry, friend, but I can’t help you with this spreadsheet. If there were even a few formulas left that could be checked and corrected if necessary, I could probably get your calendar working again in two or three hours. Right now, there are only 15 formulas that convert the date to a MM/DD text string, and another 15 that simply copy the date from the adjacent cell. The remaining 209 formulas are just the =FALSE() function, which does nothing. Did you attach the wrong file to your message, or were you just trying to make a joke?

NO JOKING here, Mr. John.
THAT would be a complete waste of our time.
I wouldn’t do that.
We can apparently now see only the Results of the formulas,
instead of the Formulas in those columns A thru I.
Crap.
I’m working on it.
Thanks for your attention.

Perhaps you want to toggle View | Show Formulas

No, @robleyd , there’s a different problem: the formulas have disappeared from the tables, leaving only the results. Switching the display won’t help. Perhaps there was a crash during the previous save or user error—we’re unlikely to find the cause now. As far as I understand, Mark prints 13 weekly planner sheets once a year and puts this workbook (spreadsheet) aside for another year. Mark, to avoid cluttering this issue with detailed discussions of the problem and its solution, let’s move the conversation to a private message.

Ah, I misunderstood the problem.

Rob, I tried it. The cells Toggle between =FALSE() and FALSE.
John, Right… the formulas are not (yet) visible,
but they’re DOing something. I’m workin’ on it (slow).
I suspect the conversion from XLSX to ODS is the problem.
Thanks for the conversation, guys.

Maybe still worth trying extensions and searching for calendar. This one is converted from Excel, uses styles badly and is somewhat sprawling but might be adaptable to your needs, Calendar Creator » Libreoffice Extensions

Thanks, Earnest, but I’d really like to retain the format that has been working.
Here’s a sample/real page from last year, showing that it keeps track of friends’ birthdays and anniversaries.
I think it’s pretty durn nice.

Okay, @Mark5023 , I get it - a familiar tool is better than two new ones. So I kept your printing option - it’s on a Classic Layout (two-week) sheet - and added printing for a full brochure - it’s on a Booklet Layout (full-year) sheet.

Yes, I know, the file is too big. But that’s because the instructions on the Notes sheet are too detailed.
