How to remove ALL Auto-formating in Calc?

How can I stop calc from automatically formatting everything?. I have gone TOOLS-AUTOCORRECT and unticked everything.

Example… if I have a colum and it is 0456… it always changes it yo 456. If I put in 10-12-14 it changes it to 10/12/14.

All I want is to put in text and have it export a text tab diameters file tyhat is EXACTLY as I enter it… no formatting changes…

Ctrl+a / format-clear direct formatting dosn’t help either…

I am really frustrated… I have searched and searched and nothign seams to be able to stop this?

Also it is impractical for me to put a “code” of some sort at teh start of every entery… I need a gloabl turn off if it exists?

If you change ALL cell formats to Text befor entering anything then Calc does not “guess” what you might think.

If you enter 10-12-14 and the Calc changes it to 10/12/14 than Calc understands that you enter a date and shows it in the default format matching your language setting.

You need to select the columns/rows with a date entries and change the format to you your needs.

Select cells > right click > format cells > tab numbers > select date > then either look if the date format you want is listed in the Format field and select it. If not listed enter in Format code (towards the bottom) dd-mm-yy and click the check mark right of your entry.

With this few steps you can change the date format of all cells you selected in one shot.

As for gobal turning something on/off I recommend to have a look at the free guides which you can download from http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/

I created my own default template for Calc
