How to remove borders to transparent images created by Writer?

I’m using Version: 6.3.6.2 (x64) of writer and find when inserting a bitmap or gif file with a transparent background, a border, either full or partial is created by Writer which irritatingly does not show if I open the properties window and view the “Image” tab.
The border only exists on the actual document Grrr!

Opening the same files in say an email document, there are no borders so that proves is not a “File” problem, it is a “Feature” of Libre Office Writer’s handling of these images.

How do I remove these unwanted borders?
Some files show a full rectangular border, others just the base line and right side.

None of these actually exist on the transparency file!!

This is simply the bounding box of the image in LO. It is there to help show where the image edges are. I doesnt print or get saved in a PDF. It is there to assist in editing your document

Thanks for explaining that.
Another lesson learned!

I think this is an artefact on screen. You can confirm this by clicking on the print preview button.

I’ve also noticed it depends on the zoom factor.

It seems also to be related with View>Text Boundaries. However, I recommend not to disable all these visual clues while you edit your document because they help to understand what’s going on.

If you use Writer only for the purpose of reading “immutable” documents, disabling all the clues displays closer to a printed version.

Thanks ajlittoz, you’re right, it turns out it is an artifact on the screen and doesn’t appear in the print preview.
I also notice that saving in “docx” format I must use the second option "Office Open XML Text (*.docx)"in order to retain the image in the file, "Word 2007-365 (*docx) fails to save the inserted image!

Problem of reproducing box rule appears in Writer 7.4 (from openSuse distro). Print preview shows the box and it appears in a PDF export. How can I avoid the box around a transparent JPG?

@konsultor: ask your own question giving more details than you did here. As such it can’t be understood. Mention OS name, LO version (3 or for components instead of 7.4) and save format. Eventually link with this question if your problem is really similar.

Btw jpg doesn’t support transparency
