How to remove tilde

Back again with another Q
When I type a couple of words with a “space - space” between them I get a tilde under the line as shown.
Can I stop it appearing by default?

That is not a tilde; it is the grammar checker highlighting a potential error.
Right-click on the squiggly line to see what the error is and options to address it.

Al, it looks like it appears because I add a space after the first word, then a dash, then another space before the second word. I can ignore it via right click and tried to add it to dictionary but it still appears again when I open the doc again. No biggie, I can live with it, just thought I could set a default to ignore it.
Thanks again m8

Adding to the dictionary won’t help,it is grammar checking. You could do one of the following:

  • Turn off grammar checking entirely in Tools > Options > Language Settings > English Sentence Checking Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids > Available Language Modules > Lightproof grammar checker (English).
  • Ignore All per session, or just ignore it yourself, it doesn’t print nor export to pdf.
  • Have it change to a long dash automatically by ticking the box Replace dashes when typing in Tools > AutoCorrect > AutoCorrect Options > Options

    Cheers, Al

Al, the snips here are what was set…I have changed nil. It seems grammar is turned off? and replace dashes is already checked?
Strangely, this is happening ad-hoc, maybe one to three or four on a page and then on the same page, another couple of lines don’t show it. Beats me

Corrected earlier comment
Or you could accept one of the suggestions by clicking on it.

That did the trick, turned off Lightproof grammar checker and all fixed.
Many thanks Al…again :grinning:
