How to reset the print format for calc

I set the print format to reduce to fit two pages and it did that but it is too small. so I want to set it to 3 pages and I find I can’t. no matter how often i set if for 3 it still does a print preview of 2 pages and actually does print on two pages. I redefined the print area and I reformatted page to 3 as I say.
How to deal with this?
