For me the “invisible” stuff like “half width space” are even more dreadful…

But that’s why I wrote “try”. The modern world will surely bite at some point, if ignored. As I need to use several european languages I’m usually a friend of UTF8. And for everybody who has additional needs like chinese, greek or cyrillic characters unicode will be essential.
