How to use PDF to Writer filter to import PDF documents to Writer (Never to Draw!)

There is a wonderful tool that allows LibreWriter to Export to PDF, or Export to Epub. Great and intuitive interface. But the opposite is what I most often need : An Open/Import ability to select PDF to Writer. Instead, every time I import a PDF, the filter generates a sequence of slides under Draw, which I must abandon as useless. What is the correct procedure to edit a PDF as a WRITER file?

A PDF is a collection of elements placed on a page. If that sounds like the description of a drawing then you’re not far wrong. You can combine the individual lines of text frames into a single block in Draw and copy from there into Writer.
If you need to edit pdfs regularly then you will need a pdf editor, LibreOffice isn’t one.
Note that you can export to hybrid Pdf so it can be reopened and edited in writer at a later date

My only one tip:

Open the PDF files in a PDF reader software and use the Copy-Paste method.

The Writer has not import filter for PDF files. In other words: The Writer is not a PDF editor software.

You can make some cosmetics in the Draw application.
