Using LO 3.6.3 under WinXP SP3, when I “Export as PDF” a simple text from Writer, the resulting PDF when opened in Adobe Reader XI hides the menu bar in Reader and there is no way to make the menu bar appear.
This, even though the option to “hide menu bar” in LO’s “Export as PDF” dialog box is NOT checked.
No replies? I thought this is a place to get help…
REPLY to qubit: I do not understand your question. Are you asking me to test variant scenarios? If so, which ones?
@joe1234 – The title of your question says that “hybrid pdf makes menu bar disappear”. If you export as just a vanilla PDF (with no embedded ODF document), do you still see the same problem when you open the exported PDF in Adobe Reader?
@qubit1 Thank you for clarifying. I chose to “Export as PDF” but this time with the checkbox for hybrid ODF unchecked. The resulting PDF opens fine in Acrobat Reader XI, with menu bar and toolbar visible in the normal way.
@joe1234 – Yeah, that sounds like a bug (toggling-on the hybrid PDF functionality is unintentionally enabling the hide-menu-bar option?). If you could please file a bug (https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/), I can try to get someone to take a look at the problem.
@qubit1 Done: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57435. If you feel that my Question here was constructive, feel free to give me an upvote. Thanks!

@joe1234, Thanks for stepping up with this information. Most (all?) of us here are just volunteers, so apologies if we take a day or two to get you a response.
I don’t have a Windows machine with, but I’ll try to get to one soon to test your results. Your title mentions a “Hybrid PDF” – is this bug only reproducible in Adobe Reader with a hybrid PDF?
