I cannot number the pages on my dissertation as required

That did it! I figured out that my problem was changing over from one style to another - I didn’t realize that you had to use the manual break (and settings) to change back and forth. Now I’m back on track and a big thanks to everyone that helped!!!

Happy for you.

It would have been easier to deal with manually, but I figured out (thanks to TXDon) what I was doing wrong and I have it now numbered.

It seems that LibreOffice is expecting only a few “styles” of papers and things are structured accordingly. Writing for different organizations (Like Society for American Archaeology) requires sometimes completely different layouts than others. Ditto for papers for different disciplines.

(I have been using OpenOffice/LibreOffice since 2009 - and have written dozens of papers. This is the first time I’ve had problems with changing from one style to another. It’s also been a while since I had to do all of the special formatting as required by my school for Theses and Dissertations.)
