I downloaded the 25.8 update on my Windows 11 PC and now it will not open. It has a lot of valuable stuff locked inside it too. I’m seeing things like ‘Safe mode’ and ‘corrupted user profile’.
Help please. Thanks
- Click Start menu - Power - Restart (not power off because that defaults to hibernate) to reboot your computer.
- Try opening LibreOffice from the Start menu, click Start menu - More - LibreOffice 25.8 - LibreOffice. Does LibreOffice start? Do you get any pop up messages or error dialogues? Please record them out screenshot them to show here
- Try reinstalling LibreOffice or click Control Centre - programs and features, right click LibreOffice and select Repair.
- If it still doesn’t start using step 2 then click Start menu - More - LibreOffice 25.8 - LibreOffice (Safe mode) - Continue in safe mode. Does it open ok?
If it does, then follow these steps- Click Start menu - programs - LibreOffice - LibreOffice (Safe Mode).
- In the dialogue that opens click the option button Configure - Disable hardware acceleration (OpenGL, OPenCL, Vulkan).
- Click Apply Changes and Restart.
If LibreOffice opens then- Click Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View
- Untick Use Skia for all rendering
1.Click OK
Hopefully that solves the problem.
