According to your help file I should be able to change the working directory in the tools menu. This option doesn’t appear to be available in ubuntu 15.04. If it is can anybody please tell me how to find it and change the setting to documents folder instead of libreoffice.
Tools > Options > Paths > select: My Documents > Edit
and choose your personal working directory
