What can I do to get the replace function working? The search function has a box, but there is no box for replace. Cntl-H doesn’t open a box, nor does going through the edit drop down, nor anything else i can think of.
Edit your question to provide additional information. Do that by clicking on … below it, then on the “pencil” icon.
Mention OS name and LO version (all full four numbers), eventually save format (though not relevant in this case). Simplest thing is to paste what Help
>About LO
returns (there is a button for that).
Have you customised the keyboard shortcuts? By default Ctrl+H calls Edit
>Find & Replace
dialog in all components (Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, …).
If you’re under MacOS, keyboard shortcuts are ⌘+… instead.
Hi,
I downloaded the most recent version, 7.6.something, doesn’t show on my screen any more. The “replace” box still does not show on the tool bar. I have the replace icon, but nothing happens when I click it, nor does anything happen when I hit cntl-h.
This is what my tool-bar looks like. Again, nothing happens when I click the replace icon, except that it maybe flashes a bit.
What about
Menu
/ Edit
/ Find and Replace
?
Same response. I.e., nothing. The “find” box is live, but there is no replace box or any other provision for replacement text to be added.
I restarted everything after I downloaded the new version. The toolbar in my screenshot is from that version.
The new version takes into account the changes to the user profile that you made in the old version. So the menu will be new, but the options may be old.
well, i restarted and used the reset to factory option. still the same. i guess i’m just SoL.
