I have been unable to adjust a blank page size to that dimension.
How do I format the blank page size to a 6x9 size to paste the manuscript? I can not find a page size option in the Format sub menu choices Am using ver. 7.3.4.2
Hi. Try Format - Page style and select the tab Page. Also page style in the context (right click) menu
Page size is defined in a page style (with other parameters like margins, header and footer).
But the setting is valid only for one page style. If you document has several parts with different geometries, you need to adjust each page style separately.
Most important: you didn’t tell the source of your manuscript. If you paste it from some .doc(x) file, this is bound to fail because M$ Word has no notion of page styles. It uses a vague notion of section (note that a Writer section is not the same thing as under Word; a Writer section is a sub-part of a page). Generally, you end up after conversion with one page style per page making nearly impossible to customize the layout of the document.
Also, if you spaced your manuscript with empty paragraphs in an attempt to synchronise with pages, this also will lead you to “formatting hell” requiring a tremendous amount of work to reformat the book. The more direct formatting you have, the more work to do.
Only a consistent use of styles (not only paragraph, but also character, page and list styles, and perhaps frame styles if you have pictures or drawings) allows to change “comfortably” the general layout of a manuscript.
