How do I create the option to use either a minus sign or parenthesis. I transferred date from MS Office to LibreOffice, and the transfer shows a mixture of negative numbers with minus signs and others with parentheses. I want to make them uniform.
If this comes from imported data,make sure all your contents are actually figures and not strings (here: sequences of digits with ±()., NOT interpreted as numbers).

If you have strings, instead of numbers, you find “Text in columns” in the menu wich can convert to real figures.

For figures: Change the formatting of the cells. Note: Formatting does not change the type of abcell, so it will not work for text/strings in cells.
