This is the same as having a different header on the first page only. Header and footer are attributes of page styles; you must then configure your page style(s).
Assuming from your “naive” question you are not aware of the existence of page styles, I consider you document is made with only one page style, namely Default Style.
The simplest method to achieve you goal is Format
>Page Style
which accesses the current page style. Go to the Header
tab (or the Footer
tab to act on the footer).
- Enable the header (if not already done) ticking Header on
- Uncheck Same content on first page
Now the header (footer) on the first page is no longer connected to (synchronised with) the header on subsequent pages. Go to the first page and add your graphic in the first page header.
A second method would be to insert your graphic in the first page (preferentially not in the header) anchoring it To page. With this anchor mode, it will stay forever in page 1, no matter the edit history of the document.
