New 12.04 32 bit instal. I open any libreoffice prog (ie writer or calc), there is a corrupt toolbar - ie no proper File,Edit, View, etc- and drop-down menus are scrambled. Please can you tell me what file or library might be missing and how to repair. I have tried removing and reinstalling LibreOffice, but this does not solve prob. Thanks.
Looks visually related to: Missing some words in menu
In Ubuntu, toolbars are hidden by default. Did you try to put your mouse over the black top bar, near from where the name of the program is written?
Thank you for your suggestion. The problem is that after loading, say, Writer; I do not have the normal ‘File,Edit, View, etc’ toolbar at the top - all I have is ‘-’ in place of each name. When I click on the ‘-’, I get a drop menu on which all the items are displaced and largely ‘scrambled’. Some file or Library is, perhaps missing or corrupt I guess.
Is the package lo-menubar installed?
