Try (menu Help) Restart in Safe Mode…
Unfortunately this already happens when I click on this menu, it crashes immediately, I have no chance to select anything. Just when I try to select Insert → Image.
It just happens in Impress, Writer is not affected. It happens with every existing Impress file and also when I open a new one and try to click on Insert → Image.
Hi there.
This happend to me too - a lot.
Until I found out that the images I used where rather big
(in resolution, dimensions and file size).
So I used an image editor and:
- scaled down the image resolution
(to 100dpi for display on a video screen, for example), - reduced the image dimensions
(in my case: dimensions in range of 1920x1080px and below, because the target platform was a FullHD video projector) - saved the images using JPG at 95% quality.
With the resulting, much smaller images I no longer had said crash.
Maybe this helps with your case as well,
Timo
