I have used LO for many years and up to now had no trouble with my printer. In LO 7, ‘collate’ is suddenly grayed out as a printer command. This is a deal breaker for me. I do need at times to collate copies. I wonder if anyone has any insight about this. Printer is Brother HL-L2395DW. System is Windows 10.
Try other (older) versions of the LibreOffice (at least portable ones). If it not work even with the older versions, then it is not LO related issue. Maybe the interference between the printer driver and a Win10 upgrade caused the problem.
Note: The LO 7.x.x are the Fresh versions of the LO. The Fresh versions are not published for the daily works. Use the Still (6.4.6) version.
Thank you for the quick reply. I am stuck with 7.xx because when I uninstall it, it removes or corrupts vcruntime140.dll. This prevents me from reinstalling 6.xx. You’re right, of course. I should not have installed an experimental version. The printer does work with 6.xx, so it seems to be an LO issue.
On my Brother MFC-J6945dw, Collate is greyed out until I select more than one copies, this is both in LO 7 print dialog and in printer properties dialog. Brother website says this applies to their printers
Thanks very much. I feel foolish for not realizing this.
No worries, it happens. Cheers, Al
Collate is greyed out until more than one copy is selected, ref Brother web site.
