4-12-25 Yes I looked at the wonderful help guide for LO 25 also. Nothing. Is a paragraph on image troubleshooting called for?
I switched back to LO 7.6. Using three different ways to insert images into a text doc, the only result is a placeholder image as sown in screenshot in my first post.
Insertion methods: 1) Drag and drop. 2) Insert > file > Finder > choose. 3) Right click image on desktop > copy > paste into doc.
What setting could cause this behavior?

4-2-25 - I recently switched from Writer 7.6 to Writer 25. Now in a text Writer doc, all images which in 7.6 were displayed now show as in this screenshot.
New images loaded manually today do the same.
This MAY be a toolbar issue I don’t understand and can’t un-do.

Any Writer 25 documentation on how inserting images into a text doc (with no wrapping text) is supposed to work?
