Include and refresh linked graphics in Draw automatically or by macro

Hi,

I would like to use linked graphics in LibreOffice Draw for svg-files, which I have created with MATLAB.

Therefore, I drag and drop multiple svg-files from a file commander at once. The graphics are always embedded. Is there an option to drag and drop the graphics directly as link?
Furthermore, I want to refresh the graphics automatically. If I’m looking for the link list (edit => links to external files), the radio buttons automatic and manual are grayed out. I try to add the source folder as trusted, without success. Is there an option in Draw to automatically refresh the linked graphics?
I try to refresh via macro for the actual slide. But therefore, I didn’t find a command for refreshing. Reading all linked graphics from a slide in a macro is no problem. Perhaps, macro recording can help, but it is disabled in Draw. Is there a command for refreshing linked graphics?

I’m searching already for solutions, but I didn’t find the right ones. Especially for Draw it is difficult to find detailed help. I hope, I get help for my three problems here.

Thanks and best regards
Thomas

Inserting Pictures

  1. Choose Insert - Image.
  2. Locate the image you want to insert. Select the Link check box to insert only a link to the image. If you want to see the image before you insert it, select Preview.

Note Icon

After you insert a linked image, do not change the name of the source image or move the source image to another directory.

  1. Click Open to insert the image.

Thanks for your reply. This work for a single picture, but not for multiple pictures at once. So, I must insert every picture individually. With drag and drop, I can insert multiple pictures at once (but only embedded).

There is a partial solution, not too complicated, to import .

Use Impress to import the graphics with the Menu/Insert/Media/Photo album.
Select the number of images for slide, 1 to 4.
Mark ‘Link images’ option.
Add the images you like.

Then you can copy all the images in one slide to a draw page, preserving the link.
Or copy one by one.
I think quicker than insert one by one.

Or maybe Impress could serve for your purpose.
