Hello, In my example below, D & E columns compare A with B. I would like to insert a column after B (Fri) . As the columns D & E move up a place I would like the formulas within them to now compare the new column C with B. I add a new column daily and need to increment each time.
I would appreciate any advice

You won’t get better answers, if you repost and don’t change your description what you really want to achieve, if answers given do not work for you. Again - if you insert after B no formula referring to A and B can be adapted automatically - full stop (revise your design).
I was looking for a solution, possibly an example! you have provided Neither! I have studied since my original question. I took on board what you said, spent many hours studying libreoffice help, other questions, youtube etc, I have little experience in Calc but am now able to write small functions / macros I have become familiar with the syntax of if, then else. apparently I offend you with my lack of knowledge,

Yes - but this is a duplicate, regardless whether I have a solution or not. And if nobody has a solution, then it may be sad, but sometimes it is the way it is (and I don’t claim to have a solution for everything and in turn you have no right to argue that I have none or even to demand one). Not a all, you did not offend me. I’m just telling the rules and one of the rules on this site is: Don’t post the same thing twice to enhance chance of getting answers - sometimes there are no solutions available here (though I just tried to provide one; but not sure whether that is what you are looking for - see your original post 295798)
