Hello,
I have many open calc files and constantly click on “the wrong one”, because all files have the same icon on the taskbar. Is it possible to set an individual icon per file?

This screenshot shows only four files, there might be more.

I don’t think so, but at first it would be interesting to know your distribution, desktop manager and taskbar-software. “Linux” is not enough. Maybe a user-script can modify this behaviour then, but as colour is already used to separate Writer from Calc etc. it sounds chaotic to use it also for files in Calc.
.
A thread on the topic of individual icons fir Writer/Calc on KDE:
I have a similar issue: I cannot separate the different instances of LibreOffice, like writer and calc. Either I group them all together and all of them have the icon from the first one, I’ve opened, or I have a separate icon for each window.
I’m using Manjaro KDE.
(Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1
Kernel Version: 6.12.61-1-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11)
I have already tried the given solution in the thread you mentioned but it didn’t work for me.
I think the first step is to have an individual icon per file that can be configured in LibreOffice. The second step is to show this icon instead of a generic one in the OS, which is Arch Linux with KDE in my case.
But, if your OS, desktop, taskbar has no option to show this, step one is a waste of time.
I’ve only seen filetype or preview in the last years. Individual icons I remember only as manual options on the desktop.
.
But as curiosity kills the cat: What colour do you expect? Will xou decide this manual on saveing?
LibreOffice can add a thumbail to every file
The problem of icons is your taskbar
