Input/output error after trying to open a pdf on macos (apple silicon)

When I try to open a PDF on mac from my downloads folder, using the latest build for macos from libreoffice.org, I get an error reading ‘general input/output error.’ So far I have tried: restarting in safe mode, factory resetting my settings, reinstalling the application, trying from other areas on my computer, e.g Documents, whilst also giving the correct permissions. I can confirm the PDF will open on a windows computer. Trying anything else, such as opening a word document works fine. Any ideas on what I could do?

Yet another function that doesn’t work in the Appstore version.

yes, i’ve checked this thread, which is why this is confusing, as I am not using the version from the apple app store, i’m using the one provided from libreoffice.org.

Does it works for you with an install from LibreOffice.org?
The other thread is from 2023, so Apple may have increased their security preventing separate executables also for regular installs…
.
I don’t have a Mac, so I can’t test.

The problem is also present in TDF downloads.
