Instead of letters and numbers Libre Calc renders boxers/squares

Greetings,

i get GUI problems on my MacBook Pro 2015 (Catalina) with up-to-date LibreOffice 7.1
Instead of letters and numbers Libre Calc renders boxers/squares

i tried already these steps:

  • removed LibreOffice and reinstalled it
  • deleted the profile-folder inside the User-Library
  • i added the Liberation Font to the System (i thought that may be the font of LibreOffice GUI)
  • activated and deactivated OpenCL
  • deactivated font anti aliasing

Nothing solved the problem.

I would appreciate any idea what to try next.

Here is a screenshot of the problem: Bildschirmfoto-vom-2021-06-21-13-46-31 — ImgBB

Cheers

@Craig22 on the German forum found the right answer.

It was a problem with some installed Default-Fonts.

Open apples “Font Book”. In one of the Menu-Buttons is an option for Reset/Recover Default Fonts //something like that - my GUI is in German, so I don’t know exactly.

Cheers to @Craig22
