In Tools > Customise > Menus, I decided to move the menu Format > Wrap to Format > Object Position > Wrap. Since I can’t actually move the submenus around (or even add items to submenus from their parent view), I had to create a new submenu “Wrap”. Is it possible to add an icon to this newly created submenu?

In the dialog where you created your menu, below the Customized items panel is a button Modify. By pressing button you can then select Change Icon...,
If dealing with a custom icon, you may want to look at this post & all its’ comments > Add custom SVG icon?
There’s only the option to rename within Modify (and no option to set icon in the create submenu dialog). It seems to only be available for Toolbars (both Menus and Context Menus only have “Rename…”).

You are correct. I was on the wrong tab when I tested. I have done this by way of a macro but it is an involved process and not always reliable.
