Do you meant the installed icon on the Dektop? You can change assigned icons of the Desktop links in your Operating System.
I tried to change it from the installed icon, but it would not stick. Tried to create my own from the app and it disappeared from my taskbar. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
What operating system are you using?
Well I tried it again and it seems to holding. Thanks again for your help.
Seems like my luck isn’t with me tonight. I was changing a txt file to Hybrid PDF and after saving the Icon reverted back to the white box, my simple L disappeared again…Seems as if the ico is somehow integrated with the program. So back to the drawing board. Don’t know what to do now I have tried everything. OS is Win 10 Version 2004 Build 19041-450.
" I was changing a txt file to Hybrid PDF and after saving the Icon reverted back to the white box, my simple L disappeared again."
I can not imagine, how a specific document related to the launcing icon of the office suite. What do you meant really as “quickstart icon”?
yes that’s the one I have been working on.
The Quickstart is where the user can pick calc, writer, base, etc modules. Instead of having all those icons on my desktop. Thing is I don’t like the programs Quickstart icon. It’s a simple white rect. as far as I can make out. Funny, I have never had any problems doing this with other programs. It’s nothing more than a link. However, something is not letting me make my new ico link permanent. GGGs all I wanted was a nice fat capital L, maybe a purple L on a maroon background. LOL Is that asking so much???
I scanned the Libreoffice program folder for anything graphic, I found 3 icons that matched the quickstart icon, which was one of them. All of them were attached to an application. I think that somehow the icon used is being updated when ever that specific app is called. But not sure. If so, it certainly is a waste of code. I will keep chipping away. If someone has the answer, I would appreciate letting me know. Tnx again
