Is it possible to export only comments from Writer?

I’m using Libreoffice v.25.8.4.2 (AARCH64) on 2023 Macbook Pro with M3 silicon.

I want to export only the comments from an ODT doc, so I can put them into a new document. Can I select all comments and copy the lot? Can I do the same for comment replies? Original comment locations are not a concern; I can always refer to the source doc.

Save as TXT doesn’t include comments. Export as MD produces a zero-byte file. PDF includes comments, but doesn’t improve the issue. Other formats didn’t seem relevant to my goal. I’m not picky about the answer. Any solution is better than copying text from one comment at a time and pasting it into the new document. Thanks.

Click File > Print, in the Print dialogue,

  1. In the General tab select a pdf printer
  2. Change to the LibreOffice Writer tab and in the Comments field, select Comments only. Print

The only difference I found on my Mac was to do step 2 first (scroll down to find the ‘Comments’ selector just above ‘Layout’ in the print dialog). Then I selected ‘PDF’ at the bottom of the print dialog, and ‘Save as PDF’ to complete the process.
